Money & Equipment

How do I expense something? Pay for it, submit through Deel with a receipt, get reimbursed in the next payroll run. Under £200, just do it. Over £200, ask first. Full expenses policy

Can I buy a book for work? Yes. Just buy it, no approval needed. Same for software under £20/month. What's covered

I need a new monitor/keyboard/chair—what do I do? Ask. We'll sort it. Don't suffer with broken or inadequate equipment. Equipment policy

How do salary reviews work? Annually. Raises happen when your scope expands, you've grown into a higher level, or we adjust bands. We don't negotiate—same role, same pay. Compensation

What hours am I expected to work? We don't track hours. Work when you're most effective. Just be available for team calls and responsive during reasonable overlap hours. Flexible working

Do I have to be on camera for calls? For the weekly team sync, yes—it helps connection. For quick 1:1s, your choice. Don't stress about your background or appearance. Weekly sync

How quickly should I respond to Slack messages? Same working day for most things. If it's urgent, people will say so. You're not expected to be instantly available—protect your focus time. Response expectations

How do I get feedback on my work? Ask for it. Feedback flows continuously, not just in formal reviews. Your 1:1s with the founder are also a good place. Feedback culture

Is there a career ladder? Not a formal 12-level one. Growth here means expanding scope, more autonomy, and bigger impact—not climbing rungs. Growth and development

Can I attend a conference or take a course? Probably yes. Courses over £200, ask first. We fund learning that helps you do better work. Learning and development

Will I get equity? Yes. Every employee gets equity in some form. Details are still being finalised, but the principle is set. Equity


Policies & Admin

Who do I talk to about something sensitive? The founder. If it's a serious issue (harassment, discrimination, legal concern), tell us immediately. Formal policies are in the Company shared drive. More on serious issues

Where do I find HR policies and legal documents? Google Drive, in the Company shared drive under "Serious Legal Stuff". The handbook covers day-to-day stuff; sensitive policies live there. Where docs live

What if I think there's been a data breach? Tell the founder immediately—within hours, not days. Don't try to fix it yourself. We may need to report to the ICO within 72 hours. Breach reporting

I need to change my bank details/address—what do I do? Update it in Deel and let us know if it affects payroll or tax. Changing your details
